"On 6/9/12 at Kigio in Naivasha District KWS rangers went on patrol and received a tip that there was a person hunting wildlife in that area. They proceeded and found accused had killed a warthog and had a spear and panga. He was arrested and brought to court and charged with this offence."

Plea: Guilty on all 3 counts (First Time Offender)

Judgement: Guilty

Sentence: Jail for 4 years on count 1, Jail for 2 years on count 2, Jail for 1 year on count 3. Sentences to run concurrently

"On 13/8/2013 at around 2200 hours accused, Biemei a Chinese National was scheduled to travel to Hong Kong being KQ flight No. 862 at 22.45 hours, she was intercepted at JKIA, Unit 3 screening unit. As she was checking in her luggage, her bag was found to contain 15 Macadamia branded packets containing worked Ivory beads disguised as Macadamia Nuts. The worked beads 6.938 kgs valued at a street value of Shs 1.21 million. Accused did not show any license to show that she was allowed to deal in Ivory. Accused was arrested and charged of the 3 offences."

Plea: Guilty on all 3 counts (First Time Offender)

Sentence: Custodial sentence - Jail for 8 months on count 1, Jail for 15 months on count 2, Jail for 8 months on count 3
